Nguné Elü

During a video workshop in the Kuikuro village in the Upper Xingu, a lunar eclipse takes place, bringing mysterious consequences. Everything is turned upside - down as the male moon menstruates. It is time for purifying practices such as scarifying the skin, inducing vomiting and wrestling. Shamans cure the body pains brought about by the eclipse, while women sing songs about sexuality and gender, relating the moon's menstruation to their own.
